On September 22, Jayalalithaa was hospitalized after she showed signs of high fever and dehydration. It was heard that she was doing well and recovered from fever and is medically fit again but sadly sooner her party revealed the news that she had suffered a cardiac arrest on Sunday.
She rose to power in the Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu in May with her party ‘AIADMK’ as she won 134 seats out of 232. Tamil Nadu’s only Chief Minister who was elected for a second consecutive term if you talk about last 3 decades. Amma was accused and even haunted in the form of almost four corruption cases which almost made her quit the field twice but it was all for a better comeback and this cemented her image as a revolutionary leader and a fighter who tackles challenges and false accusations effectively.
A little about her past, she stepped her foot into Tamil cinema at an early age of 16 and was amongst the popular actress of her time doing 30 films with matinee idol MG Ramachandran (MGR) only. She got into AIADMK in 1982 and MGR was her mentor during the course.
Her earlier death rumors created chaos all over the Internet but now the news is confirmed and we can only pray that her soul rests in peace!
