There has been a rapid increase in the number of people who seem to think the world is, in fact, flat. If this doesn’t sounds absurd to you then wait, it gets better. They also insist that Australia is nothing but a giant hoax. As per the rant that went viral on Facebook, the entire country (and presumably the 24 million people that live there) is completely FAKE.

This theory resurfaced at a gathering in the Birmingham city of the so-called Flat Earther’s where more than 200 people came together to confirm to each other that the Earth is nothing more than a giant pancake.

Fake Australia post originated on a Reddit post written by Shelley Florydback in 2017. But it appears to be back in the minds of the spherically-challenged at the moment. “Australia is not real,” the rant begins. “It’s a hoax, made for us to believe that Britain moved over their criminals to someplace. In reality, all these criminals were loaded off the ships into the waters, drowning before they could see land ever again. It’s a cover up for one of the greatest mass murders in history.”

Any rational thinker would disapprove the “Flat Earth” theory but the theory is still enjoying a current resurgence. More than 200 conspiracy theorists gathered at in Birmingham city at a hotel for the UK’s first Flat Earth Convention. The three day convention, saw nine speakers take to the stage to explain their theory as to why the Earth is flat.
